A Word of Welcome
St. Paul instructs us to “welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7)
I know it feels good to be welcome somewhere but I never thought of it as being “glorious.” God knows better. God knows that sin has so permeated our lives that we very often turn our backs on folks because we don’t like them, are afraid of them, or we have been taught that in this world it is not safe to speak to strangers. That’s one of the things that make the church different from the world. In the church we love people and so welcome them as God in Christ has welcomed us. We welcome them so that we can communicate Christ’s love to them in word and deed. So welcome to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. It is our hope and prayer that you’ll find open arms and open hearts here as together we make disciples that make a difference!
