Drive Through Donation Drop Off – August 9, 11:30am – 1pm
Those of you who have participated in our VBS in previous years are familiar with the back to school supply collection we do every year during VBS Week. Abiding Savior is a partner of South County Outreach, and throughout the year we collect various donations, mostly food, to donate to SCO to support the underserved in our community. Each Summer, SCO collects back to school supplies and puts together a backpack filled with new supplies to give to children in need in our local communities. This year, this may be more important than ever, as many parents who were already in a tough financial position may have lost jobs due to COVID-19 and are unable to provide their children with the supplies needed to start out the school year on the right foot. And whether or not, our local schools will be back in session in person and on campus this Fall, children will still need supplies to succeed in school, and in the classroom once they do return to in class instruction.
We invite you to partner with us again this year as we continue to support our community through South County Outreach. Our event for Sunday, August 9 will be a drive through donation drop off in our main parking lot from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Drive in, open your trunk or hatch, and we will have gloved volunteers to remove your donation items and close your trunk for you. Bring your Flat Jesus and we’ll snap a photo of you in your car to share later in the week!
Together we can make a difference for 1200 children in our communities!
We are collecting the following items:
