We have many “Opportunities to Serve” both our local community and our church family at large here at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.
We send a team of “missionaries” to Wind River Lutheran Mission Church in Wyoming in order to hold a Vacation Bible School for the children on the Wind River Indian Reservation. Our missionaries have also recently spent time in Guatemala serving with The Servant Heart Ministry feeding families living in the local “dump” and dispensing much needed and appreciated medical care.
In response to various natural disasters we have sent teams of members to such places as New Orleans and Houston to help with the massive clean up efforts.
We have gathered everything from soap to soup to cell phones for people who have a particular need for these goods.
We participate in Child Share a Christian organization that helps Foster Children and Parents. Each year at Christmas we participate with Operation Christmas Child, packing Christmas “shoe boxes” for children around the world. Our Angel Tree collects presents for those living in local shelters during the Christmas season.
A team of builders is always ready to show up on the local job sites for Habitat for Humanity.
We have an active group of folks that serve year round at “Petal Pushers” our arm of the Rose Parade that builds floats for the New Years Parade from the ground up, as well decorates during the last two weeks of December with flowers.
In order to instill a mission spirit in the minds and hearts of our children each classroom in our school takes on a particular mission project each school year.
For more information, please select a particular project of interest to learn more about how we participate.
If you have an interest in learning more about how to be involved in any of our mission or community service outreach please contact the church office.
